WatchDog 9865 Series Switches are a new generation of high-performance, high-density 400GE/100GE Ethernet switches launched by Apollo Infoways for modern data center environments. These switches provide high-density 400GE/200GE/100GE ports and support redundant, hotswappable power supplies and fans to ensure high availability and reliability.
The platform delivers ultra-high throughput with 16 Tbps switching capacity and dense 400G/200G/10G interfaces for next-gen data centers. Flexible breakout options support effortless scaling as workloads evolves. Designed for non-blocking performance, it ensures near-zero latency for mission-critical traffic. Ideal for high-density aggregation, cloud ramps, and high-speed server access. Built to handle massive east–west traffic flows. Provides unmatched efficiency for modern fabric architectures.
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) enables user application data to be transmitted directly to the storage space of servers, allowing high-speed data transfer from a local system to the storage of a remote system over the network. By eliminating multiple data copies and context-switching operations during transmission, RDMA significantly reduces CPU utilization and improves overall system performance. To support RDMA over standard Ethernet infrastructures, the WD9865 series switches provide full support for RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) and can be used to build a lossless Ethernet network that ensures zero packet loss. RoCE operation on the WD9865 switches is enabled through key technologies such as Priority-based Flow Control (PFC), Explicit Congestion Notification (ECN), Data Center Bridging Exchange (DCBX), and Enhanced Transmission Selection (ETS), ensuring reliable, low-latency, and high-performance data transport.
With the rapid growth of modern data centers, increasing scale brings new challenges in reliability, operation, and maintenance. These factors often become bottlenecks for further expansion. The WD9865 series is designed to address these challenges by supporting advanced, automated data center operations and enhanced network visibility. It enables real-time monitoring by sending resource information, traffic statistics, and RDMA-related alerts to the data center management platform using protocols such as ERSPAN and gRPC. This capability allows operations teams to perform real-time analysis for network quality tracking, faster troubleshooting, proactive risk detection, and overall system optimization. Additionally, the visualization features can support automated network adjustments to reduce congestion, helping organizations move toward fully automated and intelligent data center operations.
The WD9865 series supports advanced packet filtering from Layer 2 to Layer 4, enabling precise traffic classification based on parameters such as source/destination MAC address, source/destination IP address, TCP/UDP port numbers, protocol type, and VLAN. It offers multiple queue scheduling mechanisms, including SP (Strict Priority), WRR (Weighted Round Robin), SP+WRR, WFQ, and SP+WFQ, ensuring flexible and efficient traffic management based on network requirements. Additionally, support for gRPC enables programmable interfaces, allowing automation and customized development for advanced network operations. Integrates effortlessly with controllers using OpenFlow, NETCONF, REST APIs, OVSDB, and SNMP. Supports intent- based automation, centralized management, and dynamic provisioning The series also supports CAR (Committed Access Rate) with a minimum granularity of 8 Kbps, allowing accurate bandwidth control. Additionally, it provides bidirectional port mirroring, enabling traffic monitoring on specified ports and forwarding mirrored packets to a monitoring port for effective network analysis and troubleshooting.
